NATURAL MEN'S HEALTH: DIGESTION- IRRITABLE BOWEL AND STOMACH ULCERS - TREATMENT & PREVENTION PROGRAM
The following is a suggested dietary plan. Dietary changes can be made while on medication.
Breakfast
Porridge with low-fat milk. If you are allergic to dairy milk or have mucus problems, use soy milk or rice milk.
Cereal accompanied by a milkshake with a tablespoon of a good protein powder. The protein assists in rebuilding the damaged cells in the lining of the digestive system and assists an acid stomach.
Toast with two boiled eggs.
Lunch and dinner
A rice dish with a protein and cooked vegetables, but
make sure the dish is not loaded with additives, which can aggravate the condition. For this reason, avoid takeaway Indian, Chinese and Thai food.
A sandwich filled with some form of protein such as chicken, turkey, tuna or salmon. If you have salad with your sandwich, do not include tomatoes until your condition improves. Do not add vinegar to green salad B use only olive oil.
If you're eating out in a restaurant, minestrone soup is a good option as it will assist an acid stomach. Then, if possible, choose fish or chicken (do not eat too much red meat as it needs acid to break it down) and/or with three cooked vegetables.
Avoid
Nuts, chilli and foods that are heavily laced with additives. They will upset the bowel.
Alcohol for four to six weeks and then only gin and tonic, or brandy or vodka for another four to six weeks.
Vitamin C, which can upset the system after an ulcer.
Generally, a doctor will give you medication for an ulcer but it is essential to adopt, alongside the medication, a simple allergy-free and non-irritant diet as described above.
